WESTERN PRODUCER — Maxam Tire is introducing new VF (very high flexion) sizes to its AGILXTRA I-3 implement product series, offering better traction, the capability to support heavier loads at high speeds while at the same time minimizing soil compaction.

In a media release, the company said this is the latest step in its efforts to develop its VF technology for a widening variety of terrains, loads and applications while preserving performance and longevity.

Maxam’s existing AGILXTRA products are steel-belted radial tires featuring a directional tread design for longer treadwear, better stability and superior resistance to punctures or field hazards. Tread patterns are designed to be self-cleaning while delivering optimum field traction and minimizing vibration at transport speeds.

The addition of VF technology to the new AGILXTRA sized will allow implements or tankers to carry 40 per cent greater tire loads at normal air pressures. Alternatively, air pressure can be reduced by 40 per cent to significantly reduce ground pressure. This enables the tires to work under either heavier loads or higher speeds as needed, while helping reduce the impact on soil.
