Canora RCMP: Not intoxicated, just having a nap

RCMP were dispatched to a report of a man passed out in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle and learned the driver was sober and was just having a nap.

Canora/Sturgis RCMP dealt with an agitated man and a collision.

CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 21 calls from Jan. 23 to Jan. 30, some of which included:

  • one break and enter,
  • two disturbing the peace,
  • one Mental Health Act call,
  • one failure to comply with conditions,
  • one harassing communications,
  • one mischief under $5,000,
  • one roadside suspension,
  • one suspicious person,
  • two traffic collisions,
  • seven traffic offenses,
  • one suspicious person,
  • two wellbeing checks, and
  • one prisoner.

Just tired, not passed out

On Jan. 25, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of a man passed out in a vehicle in the RM of Clayton. Police located the vehicle and learned the driver was sober and was just having a nap.

Agitated man

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were called on Jan. 27 to a disturbance at the Canora Hospital.  Police went to the hospital and learned a man had became agitated and started to scream at staff.  Police spoke to the man and determined further police involvement was not required.

Crossing the line

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a collision on Highway 9 in the RM of Preeceville on Jan. 29. Police attended the scene and learned a Ford truck encroached into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a Toyota SUV. Only minor injuries were reported. Police continues to investigate.
