U18 Pats continue fight for top spot, aided by Canora players

The Preeceville Pats U18 hockey team split a pair of games with one win and one loss over the weekend in their fight for top spot in the Major Hockey League.

The team’s win came against Esterhazy during the Canora Minor Hockey day weekend on January 28. The final score of 4 to 1 added them to the top three best in the league, putting them in great shape for the playoffs. Scoring for Preeceville were: Trever Geistlinger, Logan Wolkowski of Canora, Spencer Leech and Kaiden Masley. Assists were by: Trever Geistlinger, Kaiden Masley, Hudsyn Nelson and Rhett Ludba of Canora.

The loss came in Preeceville on January against the Moosomin Rangers who have not lost a game all season. The final score was 4 to 2 for Moosomin. Scorers for Preeceville were Trever Geistlinger and Porter Wolkowski of Canora. Assists were by: Seth Hort, Nathan Newbery and Kaiden Masley.

The U18 team will be beginning its first round of Provincial play on February 11 at Wynyard and back at Preeceville for a home game two days later on February 13.
