According to CCS coaches Leona Kitchen and Thomas Lowes, this year’s track season has been much shorter than in previous years.

“With late Easter, late spring and quite a few rainy days, our athletes had to make the best of what they could with only four practices before going to the pre-district meet in Yorkton at Century Field on May 17.  After this meet we had 37 athletes move on to the district meet also in Yorkton on May 25 and 26,” said the coaches.

“With not having track and field for two years, our numbers were down this year. We think the students who chose to participate were pleased with their performance, and are looking forward to next year and pushing themselves a bit more.

“As coaches, we are very pleased with the way the students represented our school both at pre-districts and districts, and their performance in their events.  Hopefully next year, we will have a little longer season!”
