Town of Kamsack updates residents on community hall booking.

KAMSACK - While the Orthodox Community Centre in Kamsack has been rented by groups, organizations, events and activities throughout the year, the past number of months it has been fully occupied by the Childcare Centre in the community.

Greg Podovinnikoff, the community’s Manager of Recreation and Community Development, says, “The OCC Hall has been booked for child day care until they finish construction of their new facility.”

It was noted by Podovinnikoff that they, the childcare facility, had lost their previous location so needed something in the interim until a new location was secured and renovated to be up standards for a daycare venue.

A notice on the town’s website announced that this hall would not be booked for private functions until further notice.

Podovinnikoff adds, “The renovations at their new facility are expected to be completed this spring.”

Asked if this had affected revenue for this venue for the Town of Kamsack, the Recreation Director affirms they have had no revenue loss but rather a revenue gain because this is a full-time rental agreement.

“There aren’t too many requests for this venue, especially this time of year. There is another venue, Ukrainian Catholic Hall, available for booking if needed.”

Residents are welcome to contact the Manager of Recreation and Community Development if they have further questions in this matter, or inquire about future bookings. You can also send an email to [email protected]
