Judging by the packed stands on both nights, the return of the rodeo event to the town of Outlook was a smash hit and a major indicator that it very well could return as a yearly event.
The CCA Riverbank Rodeo took place on August 24 & 25 on some land just south of LCBI High School, and although temperatures cooled down on the first night’s performance, that didn’t deter crowds from having a great time and enjoying the rodeo’s return to Outlook after an absence of more than twenty years.
The weekend featured events such as bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding, as well as kids getting the chance to do some mutton busting before intermission.
Local athletes taking part in the rodeo events over the weekend included Hayden Jones of Conquest (barrel racing), Paige Mizu of Outlook (barrel racing), Tyler Getz of Lucky Lake (tie-down roping and team roping), Jesse Voth of Outlook (novice saddle bronc), Laurie Barton of Conquest (barrel racing), Katlyn McGougall (barrel racing), Jarrod Nadeau, AJ Jackson and Dwayne Jackson of Outlook (team roping), Kevin Facca of Wiseton (team roping), and Lee Ponto of Outlook (bull riding).
With the success of the rodeo event, the committee gave thanks to the attendees and sponsors for helping to make the first rodeo in Outlook in decades a memorable one.
“What a huge success we had this past weekend from the community that came out to support this great event!  We are so grateful and ecstatic to host an awesome Rodeo that we expect to see more of them to come!  Thank you to our sponsors and the volunteers that jumped on board with us, without you all we could not have done this!  We know as a first time in along time with a new young committee that has a passion for rodeo but also sees a bright future of taking this forward we had some growing pains to making next year's even better!  Again, cannot thank you enough to you all as a community for your support!  The competitors also enjoyed the huge engaging crowd to be able to show their talents and hard work as Rodeo Athletes!â€
