The Town of Outlook is left without a permanent Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the moment, as Huguette Lutz informed town council at a July 28 special meeting that she had decided to resign from her role.
Lutz had started as the Town鈥檚 administrator beginning last fall and in the short time in her role, she was commended by council a number of times for her work in the office with the rest of the staff, as well as spearheading the initiative in helping the Town obtain some notable funding and grant monies for local projects.
In the interim while the Town searches for another CAO, Rachel Sillers will assume the role of Acting Administrator.聽 She tells The Outlook that while Lutz may have resigned, the Town has elected to contract her for other services.
鈥淗uguette resigned from her position as CAO on July 28th and her last day in the office was July 30th, 2020,鈥 said Sillers, in an email to this reporter.聽 鈥淗er absence in that sense is permanent, however I can report that Council agreed to contract Huguette to provide mentorship and financial administration services on a short-term contract while they look for a replacement CAO.鈥
It鈥檚 unknown as to why Lutz chose to resign from her position.聽 In less than three years, the Town of Outlook has had five administrators who have either had their employment terminated or they have elected to leave the role by their own choosing and for their own reasons.
