SASKATOON — Restrictions and construction will be in effect on several roads starting Saturday as the City of Saskatoon tries to finish all projects before the official arrival of winter that can bring extreme weather conditions.

Catch basin repair work will be done at the Central Avenue intersection at 115th street and it will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Nov. 27.

The project will also have 115th Street between Laura and Rayner avenues closed to vehicle traffic. Detours will be put in place to guide motorists around the construction area.

Work at 115th Street between Laura and Rayner Avenues is expected to take two days to complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances or weather delays.

On Sunday, Melville Street will be closed starting at 10 p.m. for sanitary sewer work. The work site is between Brand Road and Portage Avenue.

The Melville Street project is expected to take only eight hours to complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances or weather delays. Detours will guide motorists to avoid the work site between Brand Road and Portage Avenue.

And on Monday, Nov. 29, service connection repair work will be done at Ruth Street between Melrose and Victoria avenues starting at 7 a.m.

The intersection at Ruth Street and Underwood Avenue will be closed during this project. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone.

This project is expected to take three days to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Separate roadway work will also be done at the same day and time at Evergreen Boulevard between Salloum Crescent. Weather permitting and barring any unforseen circumstances, the project is expected to only take 12 hours to complete.

Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information is available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit.
