The Preeceville Trap Shooting Club hosted its second registered shoot of the season on July 31 to August 2. There were a total of 14 shooters registered on Saturday and 13 registered for the shoot on Sunday.
The shoot was held at the Preeceville Sportsgrounds with winners declared in the singles, doubles and handicapped categories. On the Friday evening shoot, in the 100 doubles category, Gerald Whitehead of Kelvington won the A class by shooting 182 out of a possible 200 targets. There was no B class. Ed Kuzik of Hudson Bay won the C class by shooting 184 out of 200 targets.
On August 1, there was a 200 singles class and a聽 100 handicapped shoot. In the 200 singles category, Lloyd Sutherland of Yorkton won the A side by shooting 193 targets. Joe Binetruy of Moose Jaw shot 194 targets to be declared the champion. Bill Putland of Churchbridge won the B side, recording 191 hits. Linda Kuzik of Hudson Bay 鈥渂eat out the boys鈥 to win the C side by hitting 184 targets.
In the 100 handicapped category, Bill Putland was declared the champion with a record of 95 hits out of a possible 100 targets. Joe Binetruy won the long yardage event, hitting 93 targets. Ed Kuzik was the mid-yardage winner, shooting 85 targets. Satyagit Ghosh of Oxbow was the short-yardage winner, shooting 92 targets.
On the Sunday shoot, in the 100 singles category, Lloyd Sutherland won the A class, shooting聽 97 targets. Bill Putland won the B class, shooting 96 targets and Dave Fet-ter of The Pas won the C class, shooting 87 out of a possible 100 targets. In the 100 handicapped category, Volker Tobias of Oxbow was declared the champion after shooting 95 targets. John Nuttal of Regina won the long-yardage category, shooting 87 targets. Ed Kuzak won the mid-yardage
event, shooting 87 targets. Bill Putland won the short-yardage event, shooting 90 targets. In the 50 pair doubles event, Joe Binetruy won the A class, shooting 94 targets. Ed Kuzak won the B class, shooting 93 targets and Bill Putland won the C class, shooting 87 targets.
鈥淚t was a great weekend with two new shooters joining us from The Pas,鈥 said Linda Kuzik, one of the organizers. 鈥淥ther shoot-ers were Ed Budin from The Pas, Shantelle Brmin of Esterhazy and Jack Schick of En-deavour. Shooters were treated to a supper and awards program on Saturday evening.
鈥淲e are always looking for more partici-pants and want to encourage local residents to come check us out. We no longer have any local shooters other than Schick who is registered with the club. We would like to see the local interest grow,鈥 she said.
