Greg Dutchak of Rama, who was nine years old, considered himself a life-long fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders so when he had the opportunity to meet Kerry Joseph, the Riders’ new quarterback, at a publicity event in Yorkton, he was there and even got a picture taken with Joseph.

The Canora Supers re-organized for another season in the South Eastern Senior Baseball League. A 12-game schedule was prepared for the seven teams in the league.

Darren Kozak, a former Canora resident, graduated from the Solicitor General Staff College in Edmonton. He was employed as a sheriff in the security operations department for the Alberta government.

While visiting Doukhobors in the Canora, Veregin and Kamsack areas, Alexi Oslopov, a Russian Doukhobor living in Toronto, said he was enjoying the tour while waiting for the paperwork to determine his immigrant status.

Special masses were scheduled for SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in honour of the travelling missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
