OUTLOOK - A faceoff between husband and wife officially marked the opening of the Co-op Community Rink behind the Jim Kook Rec Plex in Outlook on Saturday, February 19.
A blanketing snowfall perhaps added to the atmosphere as Mayor Maureen Weiterman and Riverbend Co-op Ltd. President Garth Weiterman faced off on the ice, with Riverbend's Brandy Moxham dropping the ceremonial puck. The ceremony officially marked the opening of the outdoor space, which saw several community residents come out for a skate.
Inside the rink, people sat down to a supper of hot dogs and hot chocolate, courtesy of the Co-op.
With the opening of Outlook's outdoor rink now marked, it only further adds to the recreation options offered in the community.
