OUTLOOK - A quizzical occurrence at the Outlook post office has people shaking their head at the lack of respect being shown to those who may be grieving.
Local business Shanidar Funeral Services, which shares public notices of passings on the board at the postal outlet, took to social media last week to share the word that someone has apparently been removing the notices that are being posted.
Shared on Facebook, Shanidar posted the following:
"Respectful Remembrance.
We are disheartened to learn that Shanidar's funeral notices in the Outlook post office have been taken down multiple times.
This situation feels disrespectful to the families mourning their loved ones. It's crucial that we treat all families with the dignity and respect they deserve during such a difficult time."
The business says that it's important that all families are treated with dignity and respect, especially during times of loss, and when families share the information that their loved one has passed, it's an opportunity for everyone else to honor those people and show compassion.
It's hoped that going forward, more respect and support is shown to those who are in mourning, regardless of which local funeral home that a family chooses to conduct their business.
