“Our Grade 7 players had to step up and did a wonderful job. The girls played hard, worked together as a team and went undefeated all season with a 17-0 record,” said Nathan Hrynchysyn, coach. “I am so proud of the dedication and hard work that these seven girls have put in throughout the year. It has been a privilege to coach them and watch them grow as a team.” This was the first time in the Sturgis School history that the junior girls won the District Championship.

The Sturgis junior boys also attended Districts that were held the same weekend but at Yorkton Regional. They lost their first game against Yorkdale and on Saturday they defeated Sacred Heart but a loss to St. Michaels had Sturgis losing out the medal race.
