Local dancers excel at large competition

Aspiring Preeceville and Sturgis dancing athletes showcased their talents and achieved many medals for their accomplishments.

Peyton Lisoway of Preeceville glided across the stage on the way to a gold medal in her solo jazz performance dance at the Maximum Elite Elevation Tour Competition held at the Travelodge Hotel in Saskatoon April 6-10

PREECEVILLE — Members of the Extravadance Club that includes students from Preeceville, Canora and Yorkton brought home numerous medals from their accomplishments and hard work at the Maximum Elite Elevation Tour Competition held at the Travelodge Hotel in Saskatoon April 6-10.

There were 14 studios in attendance with over 500 entries in the competition. “I am so proud of all my dancers who competed,” said Kristin Weber, Extravadance Studio, Yorkton & Canora owner and artistic director.

Extravadance Preeceville dancers who performed and attained medals were: Kaleigh Meberg won gold for her jazz Solo with a 78.5 mark. Peyton Lisoway also won gold for her jazz solo with a mark of 81.5. Emerson Strykowski won a bronze medal for her jazz solo with a mark of 85. Strykowski also performed a lyrical Solo (83), and a musical theatre solo (90.5).

Kaleigh Meberg and Peyton Lisoway performed a jazz duet with a mark of 81.5.

Anabeth Bartel and Kaleigh Meberg, won a gold medal for their Something New tap duet with a mark of 80.
Jenna Anaka and Emerson Strykowski won bronze medals for their Technology Tap duet and received a mark of 83.

Macy Balawyder, Anabeth Bartel, Peyton Lisoway, Kaleigh Meberg and Jinny Schapansky placed third in their 1st Tooth Ballet Group performance and achieved a mark of 84.25.

Extravadance Canora dancers who brought home medals included some students from Preeceville who also dance at the Canora location.

Luca Propp won a bronze for her tap solo (83) and a gold for her ballet solo (85.5). Anna Hort received a bronze for her tap solo (83.25), a gold for her hip hop solo (87), and a silver for her jazz solo (86.5). Oakley Zuk won a silver for her tap solo (83.5), silver for her contemporary solo (89), a silver for her jazz solo (90.5) and a gold for her acro solo (89.5). Abby Wilson won gold for her tap (86.5), gold for her contemporary solo (91) and silver for her jazz solo (91.25). Lila Wilson performed a lyrical solo and attained a mark of 85.25.

Anna Hort also perfumed a lyrical solo with a mark of 87.25.

Luca Propp and Ireland Zuk (injury sub dancer: Anna Hort) won a gold for their acro duet with a mark of 86.5, and a gold for their tap duet (86).

Luca Propp and Ireland Zuk (injury sub dancer: Lila Wilson) won gold for their Clue ballet duet.

Anna Hort, Jillian Newton, Lila Wilson and Oakley Zuk performed a tap group performance with s mark of 82.5.
There were numerous dances involving dancers from Canora, Preeceville and Yorkton.

Savannah Bryant, Dylan Descalchuk, Lilith Shewchuk, Karleigh Lambert, Charlotte Newton, and Skylar Sciliberto, ballet group, silver, 84.25.
Anna Hort, Hannah Kidder, Jillian Newton, Latifah Severight, Emerson Strykowski and Oakley Zuk, ballet group, gold, 84.25.

Kendall Veer and Abby Wilson, tap duet, gold, 88.75.

Jenna Anaka, Lily Bolton, Savannah Bryant, Anna Hort, Peyton Donnelly, Callie Hodgins, Danika Kluk, Peyton Lisoway, Alexi Magnusson, Grace Morrison, Jillian Newton, Luca Propp, Katrina Raml, Emerson Strykowski, Molly Stykalo, Kendall Werner, Khloe Werner, Maddison Wiley, Lila Wilson, Ireland Zuk and Oakley Zuk received a gold with a mark of 97.5 for their Aladdin Production and received the Choreography Award and Highest Mark of the Competition.

Anna Hort, Callie Hodgins, Alexi Magnusson, Abby Wilson and Oakley Zuk received the Choreography Award and a gold for their acro group performance.
Anna Hort, Luca Propp, Latifah Severight, Emerson Strykowski, Ireland Zuk and Oakley Zuk won gold for their jazz dance.

Anna Hort, Callie Hodgins, Danika Kluk, Alexi Magnusson, Katrina Raml, Abby Wilson, Lila Wilson and Oakley Zuk won silver for their jazz group and received the Group Elevation Challenge Runner Up Award.

Peyton Donnelly, Danika Kluk, Nia Prysliak, Alexi Magnusson, Kendall Veer, Abby Wilson, and Lila Wilson received first place for their ballet group dance and the Choreography Award.
