Mrs. Emily Becker late of Ituna, SK, beloved wife of Dennis A. Becker passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville on Monday January 28, 2013. She was 73 years of age. Emily was born in Calder, SK on September 22, 1939 to her parents Annie and Metro Danylko. She enjoyed the company of family and friends, having coffee time with her sisters and family when they came to visit, loved caring for her mother and father, in Yorkton. Emily loved to garden and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for all that came to visit her. She also enjoyed playing bingo with many friends and family. Emily had a shining personality; she loved to share her thoughts and memories of everyone in her life and enjoyed telling stories that always made everyone laugh. She was a devoted wife, proud loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie and loyal friend. Emily raised her daughter Wenda and son Dev Francis of Regina, SK. Emily enjoyed the time she spent with her children Wenda and Dev and their families when she would stay for special times visiting at Long Lake, SK during the summer months. On August 2, 1980 she married Dennis A Becker and for the most part resided and worked in the city of Yorkton, where they raised their sons Patrick and Dennis W Becker. They spent a lot of time traveling together, going to bingo, family functions, and enjoyed going out for evenings to spend time to reflect on memories. She was predeceased by her mother Annie and father Metro Danylko, Infant son (Dino Becker), Sisters Nancy (Lorne) Cottel, Mary (Alec) Zaharia, Phyllis (Dave) Dawson Josephine (Joey) (Eddie) Hubick. Left to celebrate her life and memories is her husband Dennis A. Becker, daughter Wenda (Ken) Niels of Saskatchewan Beach, SK, Son Dev (Glenda) Francis of Regina, SK, Grandchildren James, Kayla and Amy Eklund, Tanner & Megan Francis; Great Grandbabies Brooklyn, Tessa and Hailee; Sons Patrick Becker of Edmonton, AB and Dennis (Jessica) Becker of Canora, SK, Grandchildren Brandon Becker of Edmonton, AB and William Scobie of Yorkton, SK; Sisters Gloria (Leigh) Powell of Regina, SK and Kitty (Robert) Chesney of Regina, SK, as well as many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and special friends. The Prayer Vigil Service was held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, Yorkton. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Francis Hengen as the Celebrant. The lectors were Wenda Niels (daughter) and Jessica Becker (daughter-in-law). The music was pianists, Lorraine Lysak (Vigil) and Pamela Yaremko (Mass). The crossbearer was Dennis W. Becker. Members of St. Gerard's Choir led in the singing of the hymns, "For the Beauty of the Earth", "Psalm 23", "Precious Lord Take My Hand", "On Eagle's Wings" and "How Great Thou Art" Dennis A. Becker served as the urn bearer. The interment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Ituna Pioneer Lodge or the SK Lung Association.
