Russell Charles Warriner was born December 7, 1937 to Gordon Craig and Laura Meta Warriner. Russell was a big brother to Donald (who passed away in infancy), Kenneth Gordon, Lanny Herbert, and Linda Darleen. Russell was always a farm boy. Starting at a very young age at his father's side. He eventually got his own livestock and at a very young age rented land and began his life's dream - farming. Russell also wore many hats through his lifetime. Custom work, road construction, working in Lynn Lake through the winter and an AI Technician all to help out the farm. Russell met Sonja Carol Lischynski and on August 24, 1959, they were married by George Beitel, Russell's cousin Nadine's husband in Smithers, BC. Together they farmed and over the years Charles James, Keith Robert, Darcy Nicholas Craig were born. Through the years Russell would include his sons whenever possible in different ventures. The family loved fishing together at the river. In 1978 the passing of Darcy, then 11, devastated the family and Russell took it especially hard. His parents passed away - Laura in 1976, Gordon 1986 and his brother Lanny in 2005. Kenneth married Tannis Staub and had a daughter Sherry; Lanny married Arleene Perepelkin and had a daughter Wendy and son Mark; Linda married Steve Douglas and had a daughter Heather and twins Kyle and Lindsey. Over time Russell and Carol's family grew. Keith married Shelley Lynn Farrell and had two sons Taylor Darcy and Lackin Michael and then a daughter Kalie Lynn. Charles married Deborah Armstrong and had two children Arianna Lea and Nicholas Craig. Russell loved people and after retiring on the farm he went for coffee into Kamsack. In 2001 Russell and Carol sold the farm much to the grand children's displeasure - no more summer farm vacations, and they moved to Yorkton. Russell also loved riding his bicycle and would put many miles on in a day! Russell and Carol enjoyed their snowmobiles, trailers, and boat at the farm then later in Yorkton they did Motor Coach Tours, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Cruises, New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii. In 2010 and 2013 they became Great Grandparents to two boys Keegan and Jayden to carry on the Warriner name. The proud parents of Taylor and Jenn. In February 2012 after coming home from Mexico, Russell found out he had Stage 4 cancer on his left lung and for over a year battled with it until he succumbed on February 25, 2013. Russell will be truly missed by his loving wife Carol of over 53 years, his family, his siblings and their families and his friends.
