YORKTON - On June 11, Suncrest College hosted executives from across Saskatchewan’s regional college network, alongside Colleges & Institutes Canada (CiCan) President & CEO, Pari Johnston.
The visit included tours of the Trades & Technology Centre in Yorkton and the Saskatchewan Emergency Response Institute, just outside Melville. It also was a time to showcase the work done by staff at the College, with presentations done by departments such as Suncrest’s Applied Research team.
“Welcoming both Pari and Presidents from all of Saskatchewan's regional college networks to our facilities allowed us to collaborate, strategize, and discuss opportunities to build upon our collective impact on rural and remote learners, communities, and partners. By working together, we can ensure Regional colleges will continue to play a vital role in supporting Saskatchewan’s growing economy” said Suncrest College President & CEO, Alison Dubreuil.
“I was truly inspired by the unwavering commitment to community outcomes to build a strong future for Saskatchewan, which was demonstrated by the regional college leaders during my visit to my home province. I want to thank Suncrest President Alison Dubreuil for hosting us and opening up a window into Suncrest’s innovative training, applied research programs, and partnerships to serve rural economic development. CiCan looks forward to fully supporting your continued progress,” stated Johnston.
