Re: COVID-19 & School Closure

Today’s announcement from the Saskatchewan Government requires LCBI’s last day of school to be Thursday, March 19th. The announcement may be found at this link;

Our hearts and minds have been focussed on how we handle COVID-19 issues, as I am sure yours are. I want to emphasize that we are not panicked, but we are working in harmony with our government.

Circumstances are changing rapidly; we do not yet know what shape the coming months will take. Here is an update about how LCBI is handling this situation at the moment:

- Any of our students who have exhibited coughs or regular flu symptoms have been examined by a physician already. No further testing was deemed necessary. We have no reason to fear that LCBI has been or is exposed to COVID-19.

- Our faculty will be working out how we can provide online support for our students. We will provide as many online classes as possible.

- Our Choir Tour, Graduation weekend and Spring Musical unfortunately have been cancelled.

- We hope that we may be able to return before the end of the school year, though the government’s announcement so far states that the closure is indefinite.

Our staff will continue their work: offering online classes, preparing for the 2020-21 academic year, keeping the books, and maintaining the facility. In a crisis such as this where we will transition to online classes, your support — as an alumni or friend of LCBI — will give our students the best support possible.

Please continue to pray for the school and consider making a gift as LCBI continues to See Jesus is everything we do.

In Christ,

Wayne Hove
President,
LCBI High School
