COVID-19 cases in Manitoba spiked this weekend, with 25 probable cases of the disease reported by the province Saturday.
The update in total case count came during a provincial briefing March 28. The rise in cases brings Manitoba's total number of cases to 64. One person in the province has died due to COVID-19.
The locations of the affected people were not announced during the briefing, nor was whether or not the cases were linked to community transmission or travel. Investigations are continuing into cases announced by the province on both March 27 and 28.
As of March 30, all public gatherings at any indoor or outdoor location will be limited to 10 people or fewer, including for churches, family gatherings and the like. Health care service providers will not be affected by the limit. All retail businesses, including grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies and malls, will require separation of one to two metres between all patrons inside.
New provincial testing sites have opened in Portage la Prairie and Eriksdale. Another site, located in Powerview-Pine Falls, had a soft opening Friday despite not being officially open until Monday.
