Members of the RCMP were on hand last Thursday in North Battleford to present a large $7,000 donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. The proceeds are from the inaugural John High Memorial Golf Tournament held at Jackfish Lake in July. The tournament was held in memory of John High, a retired RCMP officer who died of cancer in January. A raffle and silent auction donations at the tournament helped raise the $7,000 total, which will go to help research and support for services for those with cancer. They plan to be back with another tournament in 2012 at Jackfish Lodge.
