Carol Toth May 25, 1947 - May 1, 2014 With heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of Carol Toth. Carol passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Left to cherish Carol's memory are her brother Wayne Toth of Calgary, Alta.; sister Kathie Betnar and her husband Dan, Estevan; her niece Meghan Betnar and her husband Daryl Donovan, Estevan; her nephew Daniel, Estevan; and her faithful little companion Muffin. She was predeceased by her parents Steve and Bunnie Toth; and her life partner Ed Handsor. Carol was born in Regina, Sk. and lived in Kipling, Sk. until she was ten years old and the family moved to Estevan. She continued to live in Estevan for the remainder of her life with exception of the year she spent at Business School in Regina. Carol and her family spent their summers at their cabin at Kenosee Lake where she enjoyed taking long walks with Muffin. Carol was an excellent homemaker and cook, she enjoyed shopping, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, Sudokus and visiting with friends. Ed and Carol enjoyed many holidays and traveled extensively during their years together. She was a proud Auntie who loved spending time with her niece and nephew. Carol worked for the Estevan Mercury newspaper for 45 years and had just recently retired. She spoke highly of her co-workers and considered them her work family. A celebration of Carol's life was held at Hall Funeral Services on May 5, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carol may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Estevan Humane Society. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. Thank You We wish to extend a sincere thank you to all those who expressed their sympathy, love, and support through telephone calls and visits to our home; for food, cards, messages of condolence, and for floral tributes at this most difficult time. Thank you to Dr. Christie, Dr. Pehlivan and the very caring staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. Thank you also to our special sister Shirley at Hall Funeral Services for her assistance. Shirley, Dustin, and Marilyn, we thank you for the beautiful tributes. And finally, a special thank you to Doug Third for the wonderful, meaningful and heartfelt service. All of your acts of kindness were greatly appreciated. -Wayne, Kathie, Dan, Meghan, Daryl, and Daniel
