Daryl Glen Schindel Daryl Glen Schindel went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2011, at the age of 62 years, beloved husband of Charlaine Schindel of Medicine Hat.

Daryl Glen Schindel Daryl Glen Schindel went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2011, at the age of 62 years, beloved husband of Charlaine Schindel of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory two children, Ryan (Elyse) Schindel of Medicine Hat and their children, Isaiah and Shepherd; Scott (Lisa) Schindel of Calgary; his father, Oscar Schindel; two brothers, Allen (Sheri) and Garth (Teri); two sisters, Carol Neustaedter and Myrna (Alfred) Klassen; his mother-in-law, Elma Schick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Lorraine Schindel and his father-in-law, Henry Schick. Daryl was born on October 27, 1948 in Estevan, Saskatchewan and was raised a short distance away in the village of Macoun. After graduating from high school he moved to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan. It was there he obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, but most importantly met his cherished Charlaine and they were wed on July 8, 1972. They moved to Regina where Daryl articled and practised law for several years. In 1982 they settled their young family in Medicine Hat and Daryl opened his law practice. At work he was known for his integrity, easy-going demeanor and practical approach to the law. He was an avid sports fan - in the winter he would curl and in the summer he would golf. He passed this passion on to his sons and attended every one of their games either as a spectator or as a coach. He loved golfing with his friends and his sons and this will forever remain a special memory. Many hours were spent outside with Charlaine where they cultivated a beautiful flower and vegetable garden. Whether at work or at play, Daryl was always a pleasure to be around. He was beyond generous with both his time and his money and was always willing to help and serve others. He was a patient man and was an example to all who were fortunate enough to know and love him. It was his love for God that made him the man that he was. While he will be dearly missed, we take comfort in knowing that he is with his Saviour and has been healed of his cancer in heaven. Family and friends who wished to pay their respects may did so at the church on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:55 p.m. The funeral service was held in Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church (3785 13th Avenue SE) on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Bolender officiating. Interment followed in the Hillside Cemetery.
