As Canada's 150 th birthday fast approaches, Kipling businesses, organizations and families are preparing to celebrate the big event with a bang.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 As Canada's 150th birthday fast approaches, Kipling businesses, organizations and families are preparing to celebrate the big event with a bang. Celebratory events including a pancake breakfast and outdoor concert are planned for the community on July 1st, however, a celebration this big cannot be complete without a parade full of decorated floats, clowns and the kids on their embellished bicycles.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e want to promote community pride,鈥 Dan Manns speaks on behalf of the Kipling & District Lions Club Parade. 鈥淲e want to see the most Canadian (style) floats.鈥

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Getting the parade organized and rallying up parade guests can have its challenges and includes a lot of preparation. 鈥淲e are always looking to make it bigger and better,鈥 says Manns. 鈥淚t's not limited to vehicles, we welcome walkers, bicycles and anyone who wants to participate.鈥 The Kipling & District Lions Club's goal is to attract a variety of people to deliver a memorable celebration for Canada's 150th. A parade cannot be truly complete without clowns, animals and unique floats full of Canadian Pride, the ideas for parade entries are endless!

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Kipling & District Lions Club will be awarding $150 to the float that is 'Most Canadian' and another $150 to a child, 12 years and under, for 'The Most Canadian' decorated bicycle. There is no entry fee, so don't be shy! Show your town what you've got!

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Parade float participants are required to meet at the Willow Height's North Field, bicyclists at the west end of the School Track at 9:30am on July 1st.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The parade is set to begin at 10am in Kipling. Parade floats and participants will proceed east on Main Street, continuing south on 3rd Avenue and West on 4th Street. Come on out and celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, enter your piece of Canadian Pride!
