Judith Lavina Mooney (Wilson) Judy was born September 9, 1944 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and passed away September 1, 2011 in Victoria, B.C. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Bill Mooney; her three children: Heather (Gimi) Mior of Victoria, Paul (Kari) Sinkewicz of Saskatoon, and Chris Sinkewicz (Diane Bozic) of Vancouver. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Matthew, Lara, Mark, Jacob, Emily, Nicholas and Claire, and also by her great-grandchildren Tayla, Brooklyn, Elijah and Hannah. She is also survived by three sisters; Elaine, Patsy, Reta, and her brother Pat. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Rose Wilson. Judy attended elementary school in Taylorton and high school in Bienfait. She graduated at 16 years of age and enrolled in nurse's training at the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her practicum at Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw and moved to Regina to work in the Grey Nuns Hospital. Later the family moved to Winnipeg where she worked at St. Boniface Hospital until 1984. She then moved back to Regina to work at the Pasqua Hospital. After her marriage to Bill Mooney in 1988, she moved to Estevan and began working at St. Joseph's Hospital. In 2001 Bill and Judy moved to Victoria where Judy worked at Twin Oaks Extended Care until January 2011. She worked 50 years in her profession. Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and nurse. She enjoyed spending much of her time with her family. She loved to go on holidays, to knit, and to read Agatha Christie novels. She took an active role in the Estevan Alliance Church and the Pacific Rim Alliance Church. She had an unshakeable faith and encouraged others with her words and her example. She would tell us today to "dance every dance." We will miss her very much. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at Pacific Rim Alliance Church in Victoria on October 1, 2011 at 2 p.m.
