He was 52 years old and leaves behind a legacy of love and fellowship. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Allison (nee Hicks) of 23 years of marriage; daughters Lise (Lonny Soles and children Lee, Mathew, Dominic, Emily, Jacqueline and Katelynn) of Weyburn, Joan (Craig Davies and daughter Jade) of Weyburn, Mandi (Andrew Cloak and daughter Cassidy) of Prince Albert, Wendy and Rebecca of Prince Albert; his parents, Roger and Marie Marcotte; his brothers, Arnold (Christa) Marcotte, David (Loretta) Marcotte; his sisters, Bernice (Bruce) Friedrick, Denise (Ken) Frederick and Anita (Bill) Duncan; his in-laws, Wayne and Sharon Hicks, Roy (Holly) Hicks, Rob Hicks and sister-in-law, Judy (Jerry) Anderson; and many relatives. Born in Estevan, he was the oldest of six children and was raised on a farm in Torquay. He had many jobs, but two of his favourite were his counseling position at the Salvation Army and his time at the Detox Centre in Regina. Larry's last position was at the Saskatchewan Federal Penitentiary for 14 years. Larry was a family man first, program man second, a true outdoorsman third, at true card player, but always a friend. Larry was quick to say how lucky he was to have a wonderful family and always added to his circle of friends. His door was always open to those in need of a laugh, cry, coffee, a listener or an adviser. His dedication to passing on the message of AA has left a profound impact on many and will be long lasting. Friends wishing to pay respects did so at a Public Visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 from the Spruce Home Activity Centre (formerly Trail Riders Arena located 20 km north of Prince Albert on Highway 2).
