Laura Faris Deyell July 15, 1918 - February 15, 2011 Laura passed away peacefully at the Galloway Health Centre, Oxbow, Sask., on February 15, 2011 with family members at her side. Laura is survived by her son, Ken (Merlyne) of Winnipeg, Man., and their children, Drenin, Stacyn (Christine) and Mark; daughter, Donna (Melvin) Knebush of Alameda, Sask., and their children, Janelle (Cory) Pavelich and Jacqui (Todd) Renneberg; 6 great grandchildren, Carter and Kenzie Pavelich, Joshua and Jacob Deyell and Marley and Jacey Renneberg; sister, Ruth Moncrief and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Ralph; parents, Henry and Clara (Bowles) Martin, and brother, Stuart. The way of life that Laura knew and the only one she ever wanted to know was "farm life" and she was blessed with the good fortune of enjoying an active independent life on the farm until the age of 88. She loved the sense of rural-small town community and enjoyed and contributed to that lifestyle in many ways over the years. Laura will be truly missed but forever remembered by her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren as during her lifetime while fulfilling her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was able to develop a relationship and create an individual bond unique to each one. She lived and taught by example and while she now rests in peace we shall forever hold and relive the memories of her unconditional love, that true giving nature which was always offered without hesitation and without expectation of anything in return, the life lessons on the importance of hard word, dependability, morals and values and the gifts of love and faith. A service of celebration of Laura's life was held from the Alameda United Church on February 19, 2011 with Ms. Alice Watson officiating. Interment followed in the Frobisher Cemetery. Pallbearers were Drenin, Stacyn and Mark Deyell, Melvin Knebush, Cory Pavelich and Todd Renneberg. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Redpath Funeral Home, Oxbow, Sask. Thank You The family of Laura Deyell would like to thank Ms. Alice Watson, Kari Mitchell, choir members, United Church ladies and all those attending for your contribution in making the service of celebration of Mum's life and the lunch and fellowship following so comforting, meaningful and uplifting. Our thanks to family and friends for the visits, food, flowers, phone calls and cards. Thank you to Neil, Kurt and Evelyn of the Redpath Funeral Home. Your expressions of sympathy were heart warming and shall remain with us always.
