Lorne Douglas Dayman January 3, 1927 - October 8, 2011 Lorne Dayman, late of Estevan, Sask. passed away in Estevan on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Iris; his parents, William and Katherine; his sister and brother- in- law, Constance and Jack Manson; his brother Raymond Dayman. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Dayman. Lorne is survived by his children: son Barry, daughter Laurie (Kevin) Ross, their children, Brennan (Jaclyn), Channing, Danelle; son Allan (Kathy Perih), son Kelly (Sharon), their children, Sara (Mark McIntyre), Krista; son David (Carla), their children, Brandon, Tia, Ciara; son Bill (Shelley), their children, Keegan, Hailee, Jayden; son Kip (Jodi), their children, Storm, Sage. Lorne was born to William and Katherine Dayman and raised on a farm north of Whitewood, Sask. He left home at the age of sixteen and joined the army. The war ended before he was sent overseas. He travelled to Whitehorse, N.W.T. to work. In his early twenties, he started driving a gravel truck out of Regina. There he met his long-time friend Glen Peterson formerly of Estevan. When the oil patch opened up in Swift Current he headed there to work. There he met and married his wife, Iris Colbow, of forty-four years. Iris and Lorne moved to Estevan in 1956 following the oil boom. They raised their family and started the business of Dayman Trucking which is still operating successfully today. Lorne will be sadly missed by family and friends. As per Lorne's wishes a Private Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Services in Estevan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the New Estevan Regional Nursing Home, c/o 1201 Second Street, Estevan, SK, S4A 0M1 in Lorne's memory. Thank You Thank you to family, friends and neighbours for your thoughtfulness. Your prayers, food, cards and support are very much appreciated. A special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's for their support and care for Dad during his stay in the hospital.
