McCord hosted its annual Quilts in the Park display on Sunday, June 25. The local sewing ladies organized and set up this amazing event. There were 191 handmade items that included quilts of many sizes and designs as well as wall hangings, runners and even a ball. One participant from Moose Jaw brought down some of her quilts for the display. The park gazebo was hung with red and white items in keeping with the Canada 150 celebrations. The quilts were not being judged but were put on display for the enjoyment of visitors. The show attracted visitors locally and from further locales. The McCord Museum committee served a chilli lunch and refreshments at the hall that afternoon. Their museum was also open for visitors that day.

The McCord Museum has two buildings. A must-see is the 1928 CPR station building displaying railway artifacts, household objects and items from businesses in the area. These materials tell the story of those living in the area in the past. The second building is a 1913 Church Museum at the opposite end of Main Street that was built by the Holiness Movement. Pioneer items are on display there. The McCord Museum is open Monday to Saturday during the months of May through September from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
