Michael John Ponchuk November 21, 1924 - December 2, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce Mike's passing on Friday, December 2, at the age of 87 years. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Alma, of Estevan, Sask.; son, Randy (Helen) Ponchuk, with their daughter, Sara (Dustin Davies) and their son, Mannix Davies, Moose Jaw, Sask.; daughters, Shelley (Brent) Folbar, Estevan, Sask., Laurine Ponchuk of Weyburn, Sask., and Arlyss Ponchuk of Toronto Ont.; sisters-in-law, Stella Panchuk of Windsor, Ont., Patricia Stoyka and her daughter Jennifer of Pinewood, Ont. He was predeceased by his parents, Tytiana (Panchuk) Stoyka and John Panchuk; brothers, Frank Stoyka of Pinewood, Ontario; Dan Panchuk of Windsor, Ontario; sister, Katherine (Walter) Chicilo of Windsor, Ontario. A Memorial Service was held at the St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel, Estevan on Saturday, December 10, at 2:00 p.m. with Marian Huber officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic in the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4T 7T1, or to a charity of one?s choice in Mike's memory. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. Thank You The family of the late Michael John Ponchuk wish to express our thanks to relatives, friends, neighbours for all their kindnesses during this difficult time. Thank you for the prayers, cards, phone calls, and donations in memory of Mike. Thank you also to Dr. Tsoi, Dr. Christie and the nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Morin and the wonderful people at the New Hope Pioneer Lodge in Stoughton who cared for Mike and us during his last three months. Thank you as well to Marian Huber, Spiritual Care Co-ordinator of St. Joseph's Hospital who officiated at Mike's memorial service. Her care for us and attention to details made this a true celebration of Mike's life. We also wish to thank Hall Funeral Services for their extra special care of Mike and for helping us through all the details.
