Myrna Evelyn Johner was born on July 28, 1942 in Estevan, Sask. She was the youngest child of nine born to Mathilda and Martin. Because of the big age gap between her and her siblings, Myrna became fast friends with many of her nieces and nephews. Myrna's father Martin passed away when she was only 10 years old. Myrna learned how to work hard and appreciate the simple things in life from her mother Mathilda who opened a boarding house to support the two of them. Myrna started working at Woolworth's Department Store as a candy girl when she was 14 years old. She worked there while going to school and worked her way up to secretary in the office. During this time she fell in love with a gentleman who lived just down the block from her mother's house. Earl and Myrna were married in the fall of 1971 and soon after started their family. Myrna quit at Woolworth's and became a full time domestic engineer. Myrna's family was her life. She spent countless hours volunteering at school functions and watching her kids participate in sports. Myrna was quite athletic in her own right in her younger days and loved to watch her kids play sports, especially baseball, basketball and hockey. She also enjoyed her years as noon hour supervisor at Sacred Heart School. She loved the kids and spread her kindness and love to many during her 7 years at the school. Myrna will be greatly missed by her kids and Earl. She always said, "The best thing I ever did was marry your dad." Prayers were held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
