Paper Bag Players is bringing another high-energy play to the stage this week, providing a night of laughs.
The theatre group is putting on a production of John Patrick’s “A Bad Year for Tomatoes” at St. Gerard’s Hall from Dec. 7-9.
The play is a farce concerning a Hollywood starlet who moves to a secluded New England town looking for peace and quiet. Unfortunately, she’s bombarded with unwelcome visits from nosey neighbours, bizarre witches, and deranged woodsmen. She devises a solution to rid herself of these pests, but it causes more problems than it solves.
The play is directed by Paper Bag Players vetertan Pam Milani. The cast includes Bailey Lemcke, Dexter Deugau, Calypso Malcolm, Lynn Nightingale, Sean Mott, Amber Matechuk, and Dave Walker. They’re thrilled to bring the play to life.
“A Bad Year for Tomatoes” will be more than a stage show. The Dec. 8 and 9 productions will include a dinner served before showtime.
The curtain rises at 8 p.m. Admission costs $20 for the Dec. 7 show. The Dec. 8 and 9 shows are sold out. Tickets can be bought at www.paperbagplayers.com.
