Μύ Μύ Μύ Μύ Μύ Μύ Sometimes, all it takes to discover an opportunity is a little bit of curiosity.
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ For Karissa Bertalon...a second glance at the label on a pop bottle would lead to an unexpected honor.
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ βJones Pop is one of my favorite sodas,β explains Karissa. βI've always thought that the photos they used on their label were pretty. And. I wondered how someone would go about getting a photo made into a label. So, I did some research on-line and found a gallery where a person could submit their photos.β
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Photography has long been one of Karissa's interests.
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ βI do photography as a hobby. I've always enjoyed going out and taking photos of different things. So, I decided to submit a photo and see what happened.β
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ The photo Karissa chose to submit depicts a classic prairie scene.
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ βI decided to submit a photo of the Bender elevator between Kipling and Kennedy,β she says. βI thought...what better way to represent Saskatchewan than with a grain elevator?β
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Karissa's decision to 'take a chance' yielded results.
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ βI was notified that my photo had been picked as a 'Staff Favorite' and forwarded on to Jones Pop Headquarters. Then, I received a letter congratulating me. My photo was chosen to be a 'Canada Day Edition' label.β
ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Although it is not yet Canada Day, Karissa notes that the photo is already in circulation.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ βI had a friend in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia phone me and tell me that she'd already found a bottle with my label on it!β
