Pop up market

There's something special about the taste of fresh fruits and vegetables straight out of the garden, an eye-catching display of art on a piece of homemade decor and the unique products that reinvent our personal beauty and health. These are just a few examples of the various products and gifts that vendors display at spring and summer markets across the world, and soon enough in our very own community.

Each individual has a talent which varies from DIY crafts and creations, generations of passed down garden green thumbs and others who find solace in the creation of innovative products  and services that best meet their lifestyle and health-related needs. Kipling and its neighboring communities, as a whole, have not fallen short of talents in various trades and services. Our communities are fortunate to have people who are successful in supplying products, produce and crafts to the locals at a reasonable price and an exceptional quality.

The Canada 150 Kipling Initiative Committee has been working hard to help our community members have more access to local vendors and people with creative interests. As our weather continues to warm up, people will be finding themselves traveling to outdoor activities including outdoor markets. Kipling not only has the population to have a successful outdoor market but the perfect location just off of Highway 48 at LJ's Stop & Shop (524 Railway Street) location.

"We want to invite people who are interested and want to get involved to set up a table at no charge to them," Scott Kearns, one of the Committee, says of the Pop Up Market which is slated to pop up each Friday from 6 PM to dusk, starting July 16th through to the Fall season depending on the overall turnout. There is no cost to set up a table at these outdoor market events however, vendors will need to supply their own tables. The Committee hopes that these planned market events will give opportunity to those with small businesses, producers and crafters alike, all while promoting community business, exposure and well-being. "We encourage people to get involved as vendors and shoppers to make the market a success!"
