Rose Nicholson After a long and fruitful life, Rose Violet Nicholson, formerly of Estevan,Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16 in her 98th year at the Capilano Care Centre, West Vancouver. Predeceased in 2009 by her loving husband, Charles after 76 years of marriage, and her son Allan in 1978. She leaves her devoted daughter, Gloria Fordyce of North Vancouver; her two granddaughters, Joyce (Gregg Sewell) Fordyce and Sandi Smith, both of Vancouver and great-grandson, Trenton along with her niece Mary Louise Beecroft (Dennis) of Ancaster, Ont., brother-in-law, Lawrence Bill (Lil), Estevan,Sask., and many other relatives in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Rose was a Life-time Member of the Royal Purple Lodge, receiving her 65th pin in June 2009. "For 94 years, the kitchen was her domain and her apron was her uniform." A Celebration of Life is planned in Estevan the end of June on their anniversary where both she and her husband will be interred in the family plot in the town where they lived most of their lives.
