Jerry Jemieff, the Saskatchewan Safety Council snowmobile safety inspector for Yorkton and area held a snowmobile safety class this weekend at the Western Development Museum.
All snowmobile operators who were born on or after January 1, 1989 are required to complete a snowmobile safety training course before operating a snowmobile on public land.
The snowmobile safety program promotes the safe and responsible use of a snowmobile. It involves classroom instruction and hands-on training.
Topics include rules of the road, pre-start safety check, safe operating procedures, trail riding, survival and ice safety.
