Donna Tarr (l) and Sophie Anderson plant a tree at York Lake for TD Tree Days. The event, held over the weekend in Yorkton, attracted approximately 50 volunteers to plant Black Ash and Silver Maple trees at the park, including Girl Guides of Yorkton. The trees were selected because they are native species, something which helps ensure the trees can survive and thrive. The event is held in September to coincide with National Forestry Week, and is hosted by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, and is part of their initiative to hold events that connect people with the environment.
