BEAUVAL — Beauval RCMP asks for the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation involving a theft from a vehicle at a local business in Beauval on June 27.
Charges have been laid against Dennis Burnouf, who is described as being approximately five foot seven and 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and RCMP are asking the public to provide any information that may help find him or shed light on the following.
RCMP say initial investigation determined an adult male and female attempted to steal gas from a vehicle, before proceeding to further damage the vehicle and steal numerous items. The two adults left the scene in a truck. Officers responded immediately and located the female driving the truck a short while later. Beauval RCMP initiated a traffic stop and arrested her without incident. She was charged and released with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 16 in Beauval.
Further to that, say RCMP, at approximately 7 p.m., Beauval detachment members executed a search warrant at a residence located on Beaver Avenue, which resulted in the recovery of multiple items reported as stolen in Beauval over the last year. Officers are working to identify and return the items to their owners.
There is an increased police presence in the community as Beauval RCMP continues to conduct neighbourhood inquiries, proactive patrols, and follow-up on any information provided to them to advance this investigation.
RCMP say 57-year-old Dennis Burnouf from Beauval has been charged with:
Mischief under $5,000;
Theft under or equal to $5,000 from a motor vehicle;
Possession of break-in instruments;
Possession of property obtained by crime of $5,000; and
Wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence.
