Collision between ambulance and semi due to icy roads

Unity Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a semi jackknifed on Highway 14 east of Unity. Members attended to provide traffic control. There were no injuries and no charges were laid. Road conditions were extremely icy.

Members received a complaint of an individual damaging a motor vehicle but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious backpack at VIA Rail station in Unity. Reported for information purposes. VIA Rail Police confirmed the contents of the backpack were not a threat to public safety.

Police received numerous complaints of vehicles in the ditch on Highway 14 west of Unity. Members contacted the Department of Highways to request the roads in the area be closed due to extremely icy road conditions.

Members received a report of a semi collision with an ambulance. There were no injuries and no charges were laid. The collision was due to icy road conditions.

RCMP received a report of an intoxicated individual at Unity Health Centre. Members transported the subject of complaint to cells to remain until sober.

Police received a report of a suspicious individual near a residence. The subject of complaint left the area. Reported for information purposes.

There was also one traffic complaint.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle, but it was unfounded.

A 72-hour roadside suspension was issued during a traffic stop.

Police received a complaint of fraud. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members received a complaint of assault causing bodily harm. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a snowmobile collision. Members assisted Emergency Medical Services in accessing the patient. STARS Air Ambulance transported the patient to Saskatoon with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police received a complaint of uttering threats but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members attended the sudden death of an 88-year-old Wilkie female. The death was not suspicious in nature.

RCMP received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Wilkie. Reported for information purposes.

There was also one traffic complaint.

Macklin Report

RCMP received a complaint of criminal harassment, but it was unfounded.

Police received a report of a break and enter at a rural residence near Macklin. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a complaint of disturbing the peace but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received numerous complaints of two semis and multiple vehicles in the ditch on Highway 14 east of Evesham. Members contacted the Department of Highways to request the roads in the area be closed due to extremely icy road conditions.

There was also one false alarm.
