REGINA — Nuclear energy is one of the options considered for transitioning Saskatchewan from the current power source of fossil fuels in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and be a cleaner, greener province. However, a formal decision on whether Saskatchewan will fully commit to SMR’s won’t be made until the end of the decade.
