Pedestrian in Regina hospital after hit and run

Police responded to a report of an injured male located in the back lane of the 1200 block of Athol Street.

REGINA — Regina police are investigating a serious motor vehicle versus pedestrian hit and run.

On Friday, Dec. 29 at approximately 7 p.m., members of the Regina Police Service responded to a report of an injured male located in the back lane of the 1200 block of Athol Street. When police arrived on scene, they found a 47-year-old male who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and the vehicle involved did not remain on scene.

The male was transported to the hospital by EMS where he remains with serious, life-threatening injuries. In order to preserve potential evidence, traffic was shut down and members from the Forensic Identification Unit and Traffic Collision Investigators attended. The scene has since been cleared.
