REGINA - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have filled out the ranks of their coaching staff for the 2024 season.
The coaches join the staff of new head coach Corey Mace, who is also taking on the defensive coordinator role. They also join two other coaches who were previously announced in December: Marc Mueller as Offensive Coordinator, and Kent Margeri as Special Teams Coordinator.
The rest of the coaching staff is as follows:
On offence, former NFL and CFL offensive lineman Edwin Harrison joins the Roughriders as offensive line coach, coming on board following two seasons in Toronto as their running backs coach and run game coordinator. Under
Marquay McDaniel will be receivers coach, coming on board following stints as receivers coach for the McMaster Marauders and then with Montreal and Calgary.
Anthony Vitale is back with the ‘Riders in a new role as running backs coach, after coaching the offensive line last season.
On defence, Josh Bell will be pass game coordinator and the defensive backs coordinator. Bell has six years of coaching experience with Calgary and Toronto.
Phillip Daniels joins the Roughriders as defensive line coach with NFL coaching experience of four years with the Philadelphia Eagles and one year in player personnel with the Washington Commanders.
J.C. Sherritt returns to Canada as the Roughriders’ linebackers coach and run game coordinator. He comes to the Riders after four years coaching in the NCAA including spending last year as a defensive analyst at Washington State.
Jordan Linnen comes in as Defensive Assistant following spending the last two years as running backs coach with the Edmonton Elks. Prior to that he spent four seasons at Simon Fraser, mainly as defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator, and also coached the junior Langley Rams.
The new Assistant Special Teams is Jeff Higgins who comes to the Riders and CFL with 20 years coaching experience including most recent experience in the Arena League with the Orlando Predators, and 17 years at the high school level,
