Copilot for Microsoft 365 subscriptions are now available on a per-user basis with no minimum number of users required. This is a massive shift from the 300-user minimum that has been in place since the AI assistant launched last November.

Copilot, powered by GPT-4 from OpenAI, integrates into the Microsoft 365 Office suite, which includes all of Microsoft's core apps (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.). Beyond Microsoft 365 users, Copilot is also expanding its reach to Office 365 E3 and E5 customers. This inclusion means that more users across different subscription plans can now utilize AI-driven functionalities in their everyday Office applications.

There are : the standard Copilot, available free to consumers and businesses as a basic chatbot; Copilot Pro for consumers at $20 per month, offering enhanced AI features in Office apps; and Copilot for Microsoft 365 for businesses, priced at $30 per user per month.

OpenAI now offers ChatGPT for Teams for $25/month (paid annually) with a two person minimum, which offers access to GPT-4 Turbo and DALL-E. Microsoft is now offering Copilot to anyone who wants it.

The key takeaway is that AI assistants have become "table stakes." For corporate users, there is no longer a competitive advantage or first-mover benefit to deploying these tools. Companies must now integrate AI-assistants to set their teams up for success. This will not only require training and workforce development, but the revision and innovation of workflows and processes to fully leverage the increased productivity of your newly AI-empowered teams.
