Rather than looking at a complex dashboard of current data, or searching for historical data about a given system, think about asking your house, "How are you feeling today?"

Greetings from NYC. I'm excited to be back in town for the day.

In the news: Samsung is set to launch an upgraded GenAI version of its Bixby voice assistant. The company says the new and improved Bixby will understand and process complex commands and engage with users in a more natural, conversational way.

For instance, Bixby will be able to execute multi-step commands (such as "turn on the AC to Wind Free mode and let me know how the weather is") in a single prompt. Powered by both Samsung's Gauss LLM and Google's Gemini, the new Bixby will also be incorporated into a wide range of Samsung's home appliances with the hope of creating an AI-enhanced home ecosystem.

This will be great for Samsung users, but does the world need another voice assistant? No, not as a stand-alone product. However, an improved Bixby is a required first step to building an agentic system that can truly integrate all of Samsung's (and other compatible appliances) into a valuable ecosystem.

What's the ultimate goal? Rather than looking at a complex dashboard of current data, or searching for historical data about a given system, think about asking your house, "How are you feeling today?" We'll be there soon.

As always your thoughts and comments are both welcome and encouraged. Just reply to this email. -s
