BIG ISLAND LAKE CREE TERRITORY - Update, Nov. 18, 1:36 p.m., Pierceland RCMP are reporting the suspect wanted following an assault and forcible confinement has been arrested.
On Nov. 17, Pierceland RCMP located and arrested Lorne Singer at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory. Lorne Singer was wanted by Pierceland RCMP for charges including forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, and multiple firearm-related charges.
Singer is scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Nov. 18.
Original post, Nov 14, 12:45 p.m.: Pierceland RCMP are asking for the public's help locating a wanted man.
On Nov. 12 at approximately 1:15 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a woman who had been forcibly confined at a home on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.
Officers responded and determined a man forcibly confined and assaulted the woman, who was known to him, at the home. The woman was able to escape and get assistance. She reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
As a result of continued investigation, on Nov. 12 at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory where they located and seized a firearm, a machete, and a baton.
Following further investigation, 42-year-old Lorne Singer from Big Island Lake Cree Territory is charged with: forcible confinement; break and enter with intent; assault with a weapon; assault; carry a weapon for the purpose to commit an offence; uttering threats; criminal harassment; store a firearm in a careless manner; possess a firearm when not the holder of a licence; and possess a firearm when prohibited.
A warrant has been issued for Singer’s arrest. Pierceland RCMP continue to work to locate and arrest Singer and ask members of the public to report all sightings and information about his whereabouts.
Singer is described as approximately 6'0" tall and 150 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair.
