Here's what's closed today in the Battlefords

Closures perist across the Battlefords as the community continues to dig itself out after a weekend snowstorm.

THE BATTLEFORDS — Closures are dominating the Battlefords this morning as the community continues to dig itself out from an early March snowstorm. 

The City of North Battleford has said that road clearing continues in North Battleford today with city crews beginning street plowing this morning at 9 a.m. on the regular schedule for the week. 

"We appreciate the public’s assistance as we continue to dig out from the storm," the city said in an advisory this morning 

Roadways crews are asking people to keep vehicles off the streets on their scheduled 'no parking' days to ensure that streets are well cleared.

An non-exhaustive list of what is closed today, Monday, March 4 includes

  • All Light of Christ Catholic School Divison schools and the central office, 
  • All Living Sky School Division schools and division office,
  • All North West College Campus's,
  • Sakewew High School,
  • Battlefords Trade and Education Centre,
  • Boys and Girls Club Battlefords,
  • Battlefords and Area Sexual Assault Centre,
  • Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program,
  • Cafe4U,
  • Dekker Centre box office,
  • BATC Admin office,
  • Atoskewin Success Centre
  • BATC Community offices on Moosomin, Red Pheasant, Saulteaux, Sweetgrass, and MGBHLM First Nations.
  • Battlefords Transit System,

Cancellations this morning from the city include swimming lessons at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre, though the afternoon session for swimming lessons is proceeding as scheduled.

But in better news, the NationsWEST Field House and the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre are open as of 9 a.m. today, however that is with limited staffing,

Arenas are also expected to be open for their scheduled ice times this afternoon or evening.
