NORTH BATTLEFORD - Three men are facing charges following a report of an attempted robbery in North Battleford.
On Jan. 22, shortly after 7 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of an attempted robbery on the 1300 block of 101 Street.
Investigation determined a group of individuals threatened a male with a weapon and attempted to rob him. Officers responded immediately and confirmed the victim was not physically injured.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Battlefords Gang Task Force was operating in the area and was able to quickly locate and arrest two of the suspects and seize a machete.
A third suspect fled but was arrested shortly after with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services.
As a result of continued investigation, a 29-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and a 38-year-old man are each charged with one count, robbery, and one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The 27-year-old man is also charged with one count of resisting arrest.
They were scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Jan. 24.
