NORTH WEST - The last time the North West zone had more than 500 active cases of COVID-19 was in January. Now, the area's active cases is running above 600.
The North west crept back up into the 500s Sept. 13, jumping from 485 the day before to 535. On Sept. 19 and again on Sept. 22, it went as high as 670.
Friday, it was 633, but that was a rise over 611 on Thursday. The fluctuation doesn't indicate a trend so far.
The majority of cases continue to be in Lloydminster and the area south and north of the city, sitting 424 Friday. That's Zone 2.
Zone 3, which is the area north of North Battleford, as far north as Thunderchild First Nation, is at 73.
Zone 2, to the west and east of the Battleford, has 61 active cases.
Zone 4, which is the combined communities of Battleford and North Battleford, is at 75.
To date, including one death reported since yesterday, the North West zone has seen 93 deaths.
Across the province, there are 19 more active cases than yesterday, bringing the total to 4,734. Hospitalizations have gone up by three to 276.
The good news is that there were 503 recoveries recorded since yesterday.
