The City of North Battleford hosts two HHWD events per year to give residents the opportunity to properly get rid of toxic materials that can cause serious threat to the environment.

NORTH BATTLEFORD — The second Household Hazardous Waste Day (HHWD) of 2023 is set for Saturday, Sept. 23. This event is now open to all residents of the Battlefords region.

It will be free of charge for all residential drop-offs (commercial loads are still not to be accepted).
Previously this was solely for North Battleford residents.

The semi-annual events allow residents to safely dispose of materials which would be considered harmful to the environment free of charge. Improper disposal of hazardous materials can include pouring materials down the drain, onto the ground, into city sewers or by sending it as trash to the landfill. The City of North Battleford hosts two HHWD events per year to give residents the opportunity to properly get rid of toxic materials that can cause serious threat to the environment.

Examples of accepted materials include adhesives, aerosols, fuel oil, cleaning products, corrosive materials, fuels and fuel mixtures, oxidizers, poisons, solvents and more. Materials must be in their original containers or clearly labelled. A comprehensive list of materials and some helpful precautions can be Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. - 4:p.m. on Sept. 23 at the City’s Public Works Shop, located at 11112 – 6th Avenue.
