Local residents of Bjorkdale may have noticed a tree lit up just south of the RM/Village of Bjorkdale office building.
The Village of Bjorkdale would like to thank Joanne Kehrig in donating the lights for this tree. A bit a history behind the tree, local resident, Brad Wearing planted this tree for his wife Judi Wearing, who at the time worked at the Bjorkdale Credit Union when it was open. Thanks for the tree that will keep lighting up now year after year.
The Little Valley Playschool hosted their annual trade show that took a hiatus for two years due to COVID-19 and had a successful Sunday crowd. Twenty-one vendors lined the Bjorkdale hall this year. There were many new home-based businesses this year and it was complimented by all who attended.
Bjorkdale Minor Hockey ran the food booth and raised around $500 off of the booth sales. The Little Valley playschool was bale to raise over $2,000 this Sunday. This included the sale of the community calendars 50/50 which went to Jean Wilson of Meadow Lake of $202.50, raffle table and baking/silver collection donations. On behalf of the Little Valley Playschool, thank you for the community support, the vendors and all who attended.
It was a busy weekend and was a great success for all. As mentioned above, if anyone was unable to pick up a community calendar at the trade fair this weekend, you can stop by the Village of Office Monday, Wednesday, Friday to pick yours up. Calendars are $15 each.
The Sylvania Dinner theatre was another smashing success, and local teacher Penny Mohr again was an actress for this annual event. Each night was sold out and continues to be a great fundraiser for the community of Sylvania. Excellent job to all the volunteers, actors, actress and anyone behind the scenes who make this event such a success each and every year.
