Man charged with damaging RCMP cruiser gets new court date

HUDSON BAY - A new court date has been set for one of two people arrested after a stolen vehicle struck a police cruiser in Hudson Bay.

In Melfort Provincial Court on Feb. 3, 22-year-old James Whitehead, of Tisdale, had his matters adjourned to Feb. 18.

On Nov. 14, Mounties discovered a stolen truck at a residence in Hudson Bay.

When they approached the vehicle with emergency lights engaged, the truck sped up and struck the police vehicle twice, disabling it.

Police had to use a taser to arrest one of the suspects.
